For me, he was the boy who grew from George in “Our Town” to the man who played the Stage Manager. It was versatility, it was maturing. I’m not really into movies, but I appreciate good actors. (But then, I remember the Golden Age of Television dramas.)
He was one of the few remaining Hollywood greats who was truly GREAT. I was impressed by his acting chops. I was more impressed by a man who remained married to the same woman from 1958 until the day he died.
