My parents have arrived and surprisingly enough… NO FIGHTING. Ahh, how wonderful!
Anyway, nothing’s new here except that I was offered ANOTHER college teaching job at ANOTHER college (community)… but, I think I’m sort’ve maxed out.
Tired. Still haven’t lost much more than a couple of pounds (but mom said that my body is more toned than in December)… but still exercise 4 days a week.
My oldest son is still hanging out with the girl who has a boyfriend (Hmm…) and she’s going to a waterpark with us this week coming.
My middle one is preparing to goto high school and is struggling through his summer reading.
My youngest is doing well, still crazy and goofy. Currently, he’s in bed.
I will write as soon as I have something to write about (my mind is a crunched up piece of cardboard thanks to that SUCKY Western Civ book, but good news is that Prentice-Hall has a website where I can download, and PRINT, copies of their world history maps–blanks, cuz I’m a map whore).
(Like THAT’S a surprise to those who know that I read maps for fun.)
(If you didn’t know that, I’m really not as lame as that sounded.)
My major beef this week? Humidity making all parts of my body sweat. I hate to sweat.
Hopefully it’ll rain some and then we’ll have a few days of low humidity.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I’m alive.
(Though, I am wondering if I should still update at D’land… what do you think?)
-Peace out… Herstory07

Y’mean I’m not the only one who reads maps for fun? (I think I was nine when I started doing that.) Before we had internet, I requested (and received) a local map of Israel from a man I had worked for. I needed it because the maps in the newspapers looked as if Jerusalem and Beirut were in the same country. He found me a tourist road map so that it would have English on it.

I adore maps – the older the better. If I had the money I’d probably collect antique maps. Maps are a symbol for adventure, catering to my sense of possibilities, of what’s out there. They quite literally represent the Road Not Taken, and illuminate the way to turn down that road at some nebulous (or not so nebulous) future date.
Gee, ya think I might share an interest a bit with you?
And for the record, I’d love it if you updated on Diaryland again. I keep forgetting to check here every night. I’m not ignoring you, I’m functioning on half-thrusters as of late.

Congratulations on sticking to your exercise routine. Tell me if it helps you deal with the stress of having your parents visit. It sure helped me get thru last year with the devil child I had in my class. Summer school is over and I’m on vacation. Today I go get my passport. YIPEE!

I’ll have to go back to updating on D’land until I find a better way of notifying people.
Stress? TODAY the stress of having parents who want to go out and do things EVERYDAY (forgetting WE aren’t on vacation, nor do WE have the money to pay for FIVE when they are only paying for TWO)… I sent them to the town pool (three towns away) with the kids. I’m sunburnt from yesterday’s foray at the amusement park. My legs are KILLING me (same reason… think ALL UPHILL). And, to be honest, I’m freaking exhausted and have OTHER things to do… like laundry and foodshopping (which, btw, I have TRIPLED because for two people who “NEVER EAT” they sure eat a lot. Ugh)
OH I’ll be updating as soon as this is over… one big long frothy ball of fun.

HEY!!! Stranger!! I was wondering what happened to you, dear. You must explain this RSS to me. I used to be able to follow along swimmingly, however, nowadays, technology has me a slight bit befuddled. Email me… silly!
